Introduction to the BCX Academy
The vision of the BCX Academy in Africa is to build Alibaba Cloud competencies whilst creating value for a variety of our key stakeholders across Africa. Our diverse approach to Alibaba Cloud skills development will contribute significantly to the lives of Africans of all ages and demographics.
Together with the Alibaba Cloud Academy, we have developed learning pathways and opportunities for our employees, our partners, our customers, and of equal importance our youth.
To date, BCX has acquired a total of 179 professional Alibaba Cloud certifications and an additional 54 clouder certifications.
BCX Academy App
In support of our vision, we have developed a dynamic learning app called the BCX Academy App, which is designed to unleash a world of endless learning opportunities for all our stakeholders across all our seven pillars. The app will provide our users with remote learning at their convenience, anytime, anywhere, with just an internet connection and a compatible device.

Alibaba Training Partner in Africa (Silver Level Partner)
BCX has been recognised as a silver training partner and Alibaba Cloud preferred training partner in Africa (MoU signing in October).
Academic Empowerment Programme in Africa
Alibaba Cloud Academy, BCX Academy and Wits university have partnered to bring digital intelligence knowledge to universities worldwide (MoU signing in October)
The programme is aimed at creating value for students by equipping them with industry certifications which will make them more employable upon completion of their qualification.

Alibaba Cloud Graduate Development in Africa
“Graduate unemployment in South Africa grows at an unprecedented rate each year. New graduates, many with Honours and Masters degrees, struggle to find jobs for reasons cited as their lack of foundational workplace skills. Internships support the transition of new graduates into the workplace and aid the development of foundational skills on which to build their careers” (WWF, 2023).
The vision of our Alibaba Cloud graduate programme is to close the gap in the industry by providing employment opportunities for graduates whilst developing a talent pipeline of Alibaba Cloud Engineers for Africa.
